When you look at my blog you see a free affiliate marketing report on the right-hand sidebar. By strategically placing this above the fold it’s very easy to see.

The real question is why would I want to promote this in such prime real estate on my high traffic blog?

For years the top Internet marketers have said the money is in the list. When I give away a free report I’m actually building my mailing list.

Every name and email address is stored in an auto responder for future follow-up. That autoresponder contains prewritten messages to start dripping information on the subscribers.

Most people do not purchase something on the first visit to a website or blog. This is why I want their email address and name.

If it takes a person 10 times to see something before they act on it I need nine more exposures after they initially come to my blog. The best way to do that is giveaway something of value in exchange for their contact info.

You see I have these words “Enter your name and email address below to receive your free report on how to setup your own money making website in less than a week.”

I am willing to offer that free information on how to get a money making website going because most people face that problem when they first start. By giving their name and email address I’m willing to trade the report for future follow-up.
