There is no specific rule about when to outsource tasks that take up too much of your time. However, all internet marketers will eventually face the time when they should start outsourcing some of their workload. There are some common questions that need to be asked though when you do consider outsourcing.

What Are Your Skills?

You should concentrate on working with your strongest skills. For example, if you are a good writer you should concentrate on writing articles. On the other hand, if you do not know how to create a website, it may not be a good use of your time to try and create one.  The objective of outsourcing is to leverage the skills of other people to help you do what needs to be done.  If someone can do a particular task better than you, then why not let them?

What is The Value of Your Time?

The saying that time is money is true when it comes to internet marketing. It is a valuable resource just the same as your money. If the value of your time is X number of dollars an hour, then activity you perform that does not provide that much value should be outsourced if your budget permits. Outsourcing allows you to leverage the time of others in order to make the most of your time.

What is The Economy of Scale?

This is one of the biggest issues that drives the need to outsource. Let’s say it takes an hour for you to write 4 articles and you get paid $5 for each article. Your earnings for an 8 hour day will be $160. If you work 8 hours a day, every day, the most you will ever make in a month is $4960, and that is assuming every month has 31 days. Nearly $60,000 a year may sound like a decent income. But then stop and analyze this for a moment. You would probably like a day off on occasion or even some vacation time. After all one of the reasons you decided on internet marketing in the first place was to avoid that 9:00 to 5:00 work day. By outsourcing, you can take on more clients and have other people write your articles for you.  This will serve to increase your potential income.

The same is true for any type of internet marketing.  If you outsource website design, product creation, customer service, and other everyday tasks, you can create an unlimited amount of new products and websites.  If you do all of this yourself, you will be lucky to create 2 websites and products a month, because you only have so much time.

How Large is Your Budget?

There are some internet marketers who begin in the business with the ability to spend thousands of dollars a month for outsourcing. They may be the fortunate few. Most of us do not have that kind of luxury to cover our monthly expenses.  It only makes sense that if you do not have the money to outsource, then you shouldn’t.
