Do you enjoy social networking?  It can be fun, but if you are doing it as a way to market your Internet home business it could be a waste of time. If it is going to be a marketing tactic, then like all other marketing tools, you should have a game plan for it.

Following are 7 quick social networking tips to help you get your started. on

1. Be consistent

It really doesn’t matter what you plan on doing, just make sure that you are doing it consistently.  If you are in too many networks, there is chance that you will not be able to consistently keep up with all of your profiles. It is better to post frequently in just a few of the networks rather than occasionally in a large number of them.

If you creating profiles across a variety of social networks, it is important to make sure that they are consistent.  This includes using the same name, personal details, contact info, and picture.  Some people will search by your contact info or look at the gallery for your picture.  If they are not all the same, people will have difficulty finding you.

2. Develop A Plan

You need to have a plan before entering your profiles.  Know what you are going to post and what else needs to be done.  It is really easy to get distracted and waste time on other things, so plan ahead.

3. Be Charitable

It’s OK to bookmark your own content.  However, if you only bookmark your own content is you will be considered a spammer. So, it is critical that you also bookmark other posts around the web as well.  This social networking tip will go a long way in keeping your profile from being ignored by everyone else.

4. Save Time

While posting great content is a must, many social networking sites make it easy to add the RSS feed from your website and have your new posts act as content. This social networking tip is a huge time-saver and should be taken advantage of.

5. No Email Alerts

Nearly all social networking sites want to send you alerts for one reason or another… don’t let them.  If you are on a variety of networks, this will only waste your time.  Plus, if you are consistently active, you will know what is going on anyway and this social networking tip can cut down on receiving information you already know.

6. Understand the Background

Every social network has its own unique social forms and traits.  Make sure that you get a feel for these values and practices before you jump in full force.

7. Contribute

If you can help out someone else on a social site, then do it. Not only will this make you look good, but you have a place to turn if you need a favor.

These tips have been helpful for me and I hope they will be helpful for you.

Social networking can be a fun thing to do, but more importantly is a way to increase the presence of your internet home business or any online business. It is a development that has seen extraordinary growth in recent years and shows no signs of tapering off. And the chief benefit of it is that you can social network without spending a single penny of your marketing budget.

There are many ways that can be used for your social networking strategy, but there is one tip that trumps them all: Focus!

The first thing you need to do is to choose your social networks with care.  If you have done even a preliminary search for related social networking website, you will quickly discover that there are hundreds that can you could use.  Take some time, make a list, and start comparing.  It is important to focus on only a limited number of social networking sites instead of taking the shotgun approach and doing only a little bit of work with every site.

In order to choose which social networking sites are best for you, there are some standard criteria that you should follow.  Here is a quick look at what your starting criteria should be: relevancy, time, and infuence.

Relevancy is simple enough.  Your social networking sites need to have a  direct relationship  to your niche (exclusions to this rule can be made for major sites such as Facebook, Ning, MySpace, Twitter, etc)

Time refers to how much time you need to commit to getting your profile established.  Additionally, time refers to the average amount of time that needs to be delegated to your profile in order to make it useful.  For example, if you are using twitter, tweeting only once or twice a week will not do much good.  However, on slower moving social networking sites, posting once or twice a week is more than enough.

Infuence relates to how much a quality profile is actually worth, how it will draw. This includes things like how many people you can get to follow you, how useful any links that you use will be to boost your website, etc. If you set up an optimum profile, but no one sees it, it doesn’t matter how good it is.

As with all aspects of Internet marketing, if you do not make good decisions to begin with, you will end up wasting a lot of time and effort with nothing to show for it. There are a number of social networking tips that you can use to maximize your experience, however one social networking tip should be considered more of a rule and that is to focus on choosing the right social networks to join.

Is Rebranding Ebooks a Profitable Goal?

Do you want to make some extra money with your Internet home business? Rebranding ebooks has long been known to be an easy way for affiliate marketers to generate some extra online income.

While this may be true, there are also some reasons why it is not always a good idea.

Let’s look at some of these.
1. Within every rebrandable ebook, there are links that you cannot change.  These links belong to the creator of the ebook and he or she will continue to profit from your hard work.

On the other hand if you were to create a similar ebook of your own you could keep all of the profits..

You can even create your own rebrandable ebook so that your ads can go viral across the internet instead of someone else’s.

2. They Are Everywhere. You find a new affiliate product to promote, and the product creator offers you a rebrandable ebook to help get you started.

You find a new affiliate product to promote, and the product creator offers you a rebrandable ebook to help get you started.  While this seems like a big help, if you are not one of the first promoters, then the ebook has probably already found its way across the internet.  Without something unique to offer, your rebranded ebook will not get the attention that a unique report would.  By doing a little extra work, you could have a unique report that no one else can offer. This would give you a much better chance of making a profit.

Here are some reasons to consider rebranding someone else’s ebook.

1.  It’s Easy. Rebranding an ebook can take as little as a few minutes and create long term profits.

You can then offer the ebooks as free downloads. This gives people an incentive to opt into your mailing list subscription form. You can also create a free download section on your website where visitors can go and download as many ebooks as they like. If they buy your affiliate products using the ebook,  you will earn a commission.

The appealing thing is you don’t have to write anything, produce anything, or create any graphics.  All you need to do is rebrand and share.

2.   Multi-Level Programs

If you are involved with a multi-level program, passing on a rebrandable ebook has a two fold effect. It will make you profits directly, and the people below you will generate profits for you as well.  Rebranding ebooks is the easiest way to profit from programs that are tiered because you can rely on your own efforts to recruit more affiliates instead of someone else’s
As you can see there are advantages and disadvantages to rebranding ebooks.

It’s a method to make extra money. You can decide if it is worth your time and effort.

If you have been around the Internet even a short time you would think  that there are nearly as many internet marketing success tips as there are internet marketers. Some of these tips are based on real experience, but often are general in nature and of little help. Here are3 tips that are specific and can be found in any profitable online venture.

1. Do something

It doesn’t matter how much you plan if you never do anything.  One of the chief problems that newer internet marketers have is that they keep trying to learn, but never take any action.  You could be the most knowledgeable internet marketer in the world, but without action, your knowledge has no real value.

I think the fear of failure may keep many people from taking action. We all fail. This is true of all business both online and offline. In fact, I read somewhere that those who are considered among the most successful heads of business make wrong decisions and fail about 50% of the time.

Internet marketing is a tough business and failure at some stage is inevitable.  When you fail, consider it a learning experience. A good thing about working online is that if you website is poor, it can be fixed.  If your strategy doesn’t work, you can change it. Every problem that you have can be fixed.

2.   The Internet Is Flexible

One characteristic that differentiates online and offline businesses is that the internet is much more fluid than the real world. Search engine strategies are always evolving and becoming more refined.  The internet is an ever changing world that is controlled by the people creating websites and surfing the web. Every new technology can affect your website and your online business.

This isn’t true for businesses offline. For example, the last BIG revolution in restaurants is the POS (point of sale) touch-screen system and was introduced decades ago.  The last BIG revolution on the internet came from the telecommunications industry with the advent of mobile surfing, or was it Twitter, or was it Facebook, or was it mobile television?  The internet is always experiencing the next BIG revolution, so it is important to stay updated and not allow your strategies to become stagnant.

3. The Internet is a Business!

It is not a hobby; although it can be if that is the way you choose to use it. If you want it to be a business, then you must treat it as a business. Until you realize that it must be treated with the same level of dedication and seriousness as an offline business, you will have problems succeeding.

These 3 tips are just the beginning. They may be compared to the orientation you would receive if you were newly employed in an offline business. There are many additional skills that you must learn in order to be successful in an Internet home business. But it will be difficult to create a durable business without accepting that these 3 tips are keys to success.  Once you realize this, you will be a step ahead of most other hopeful internet marketers.

Planning and setting clear goals for your Internet home business are essential for its success. Yet we often neglect or overlook the 3 most important ones

1. Set Goals.

If you do not know what you are trying to achieve it will be very difficult to become successful.  If you ask the average beginner what their goals are, the answers are often similar to this: I want to be my own boss, I want to buy anew car, I want to work from home, etc. These all sound good and would be nice but they are not business goals, they are personal goals.  A business goal would be to create one website a month for the next 4 months have them on the first page of Google in 6 months.  This is a tangible goal and illustrates the beginning of a plan.

When you start setting goals for your internet marketing business, it is important to make them as realistic as possible.  When goals are tangible, they are measurable.  If one of your goals is not measurable, how do you know if you have achieved it or not?

2. Create a Means-Based Action Plan

Some people will start creating their action plan, only to leave out the actions.  Action plans are not ends-based, they are means-based.

For example, “I want to have the top ranking website for the keywords A, B, and C”, is not a means-based action plan.  A high ranking website is the end.  The means could be something like:

“I am going to create 50 backlinks for every keyword to my homepage.”

or

“I am going to submit 50 articles to article directories based on all 3 keywords.”

The means is the action that you will take, not the results that you will achieve.

3. Determine How You Will End The Project

At some point after you begin your internet marketing career, the project needs to have an exit strategy. This is the point where you end the project. The exit does not have to be set in concrete, but it needs to exist.  Once you have determined that your website has reached the point where you are making maximum profits with the minimal amount of work, you need to enact your exit strategy. This might be the point where you would offer the website for sale because it has the maximum value.  Regardless of what your end-game is, it needs to exist.

So keep in mind that planning and setting clear goals is fundamental to success. Working on these 3 marketing success tips may not seem very exciting but they are very important if you want to succeed with your Internet home based business.

6 Top Keys For Internet Marketing Success

I believe the vast majority of people who start out to build an Internet marketing home business do so thinking that it’s an easy way to make money. I also think that is why there is a 95% failure rate among new start ups. I have had hundreds of affiliates sign up for one of my programs and as soon as they have received   training instructions and see the work that it takes, the vast majority leave the program.

However, if you are one who realizes that it does take work to make money in business and that there are going to be problems to overcome, you will have a much better chance of success.

There is so much information available on the Internet in article directories, forums and blogs, and you can find even more in books, both online and off. Many of these sources reveal how successful Internet marketers who have gone before you have solved the problems they faced.

Here are some key areas that you will need to master as an Internet marketers in order to solve problems and succeed with your Internet online business.

1. Right frame of mind. You can develop this even if you start out with zero
knowledge. With the right mindset you will be on the path that leads to eventual success. Learn to ask questions and to be proactive so that you can draw the solutions yourself. If their solutions work for you copy the work of others.. On the other hand, an open-minded approach will help you to innovate where necessary, or where you see an opportunity to develop something uniquely your own.

2.   Develop relationships. If you’re working at home alone on the Internet you are really not alone because there are thousands upon thousands of people working online at the same time. Get to know some of them who have the knowledge you are seeking.

Be proactive. Join forums, read and comment on blogs, follow up any initial contact via forum private messages, e-mail, Skype, or even face-to-face meetings where there is opportunity.

3.   Become an expert. Make it your aim to become an expert in Internet marketing. Study and learn. Don’t stop even when you think you have good knowledge. Build up a library of books that you can turn to for inspiration and education. Whenever you get stuck on a project, stop and refer to one of those books so that although you may be stymied for the moment,. you can
continue to learn and move forward.

4.   Develop your business. This covers all aspects of your business from product design and development to promotional development. At all
times you should be looking for ways to improve the product and improve the reach of your business and bring in new customers through
marketing activities.

5.   Deliver your product or service. This is what all that learning and work has been preparing you for. Sales are coming in, but can you deliver the goods? Make sure you have tested the products and tested the delivery processes, and then work on delivering above expectations. If, for example, you are dealing in affiliate products, be sure to purchase the product first so that you can check the delivery process and the quality of the product when it is delivered.

6. Build a team. As your relationships grow, you will find a small group of people who you may want to work more closely with. These may be people that you can outsource some of your work to, or people you set up joint ventures with.

As you move forward with your business you will discover that much more can be achieved by working together with other people who have skills to complement your own.

How do you use your spare time and how are you going to use it in your online business? We can’t stay busy every single minute but there are times when we have 10 or 15 minute gaps with nothing to do. Have you ever thought about how much you could accomplish in 5, 10 or 15 minutes?

Most of us would think there isn’t much we can do to help build an online Internet marketing business in such a small amount of time. However, if you do a little preparation ahead of time you will be amazed at what you can do.

Knowing that you can make good use of such small windows of time may actually inspire you. To help you get started, here are a few quick online business building tips.

1. Generate a one-way backlink to your website. Backlink building can be a tedious task if you try to do it all in one time frame. However, building
backlinks one link at a time when ever you have five minutes to spare will prove just as effective for your website promotion effort, and will free up your main productive periods for more creative activities. If you are well organized here are some ways you can do that:

1.a. Blog comments: If you bookmark any blogs you come across that are related to your website market niche, you will be able to quickly access any one of those blogs in a mouse click. Take a couple of minutes to read the latest post. As you read, formulate a possible response. Now spend the remaining couple of minutes posting your comment. Bingo! One more backlink pointing at your website!

1.b.Twitter is absolutely perfect for a five-minute slot. Don’t spend too much of your time on Twitter, but a five-minute dead slot is well used if you can put out a couple of tweets that link back to your website or blog post with an enticing few words or a question that will arouse interest along with your URL.

1.c. Forum comments: Join several relevant forums and visit one of them in one of your five-minute periods. Look for new threads, or new comments on old threads, and post a response. If you posted your website URL in your signature file, it will automatically appear beneath the comment as a link back to your website.

2.   E-mail is something that needs to be managed carefully. It is easy to spend far too much time checking and replying to e-mail during the most productive times of the day. Instead, you will achieve much more by planning to work on your bigger projects during those longer time periods. If you have two hours to spare in the morning, do not spend forty-five minutes of that time on your e-mail. Dedicate that time to your main project. Then when you have a five-minute or so gap between tasks, use that time to reply to deal with your business e-mail.

These are a few things you can work into your list of things to do on a daily basis to help you market your Internet home business opportunity. So the next time you have those small open windows of time think about applying some of these suggestions.

Unfortunately most of us focus on the wrong things when we start our Internet home businesses. These things include spending a lot of time on Twitter building follower lists or on Facebook. They take up your time but in and of themselves make little if any money.

Forums are a good thing but unless you really learn something valuable you can spend a lot of time chatting and the return is not commensurate with the time spent.

Neither of the resources I have mentioned are bad in themselves. They have their place in Internet marketing, but that place is not at the front of the list of priorities.

So what activities should you prioritize when doing business on the Internet?

1. One good thing to do is to develop products and services of your own. These can be physical or digital products, or a set of skills that you can offer as a service. Either way, you need to make your mark by offering something of your own.

2. When you have developed a product or service set up an affiliate program in Clickbank.com or PayDotCom.com. Once you have done that setup a great sales page, e-mail newsletters, banner ads, thank you page ads and a whole range of other resources to encourage people to sign up to your affiliate program and market your products.

3. Research new skills by doing off-line as well as online reading. If you take your business seriously you need to invest in it.  You can find books written by successful marketers at Amazon.com or at your local bookstore and these can be a great investment. Even if you only read five or six books a year, you will be putting yourself ahead of the crowd in terms of acquired knowledge and insight into Internet marketing

4. Joint ventures with other successful marketers can also be a great thing. You will need to find marketers who are successful and who offer products that are complementary to your own so that the two of you can put together an
attractive joint package.

5. Outsource time-consuming but necessary tasks. For instance, if you don’t like writing articles or e- books, or you don’t feel you can develop original products of your own, then by all means find somebody who can do that for you. This will leave you free to concentrate on promoting your products and services.

Outsourcing will cost you money, but it will also save you a lot of time and increase your productive output. Nearly all the most successful Internet marketers that I know employ other people to do things for them. If you try to do everything yourself you will ultimately be holding yourself back from achieving the success that you desire.

Consider these suggestions. Set priorities for the important things and focus on the important things. Only spend a little time each day on low priority items such as social marketing. Manage your time wisely. If you maintain your focus you will see your Internet home business grow and you will become a successful Internet marketer.

One of the major problems that newbie affiliate marketers are facing today is competition. So even though affiliate marketing is a great way to run a home based business on the Internet you need to learn how to face the competition.

The reason for this heavy competition is that the company efforts are focused on getting as many affiliates as possible signed up for their program. As a result the most popular affiliate products on the Internet have literally thousands of affiliate marketers competing against each other to earn commissions on sales. That’s great news for the product designer, but not so hot for the new affiliate marketer who is trying to make his or her first sale on the Internet.

How can a newbie affiliate marketer get over this problem? Let’s look at some possible solutions.

1. First of all, if you are getting into affiliate marketing for the first time, do your research before setting up your online business. There are literally thousands of affiliate programs out there catering to all manner of niche markets. So look out for a niche market that is big enough and lucrative enough for you to make money in. The niche market should have several affiliate products for you to promote, should have a reasonable amount of competition but not be saturated with too much established competition.

2. Find a way to offer something unique in addition to, and ahead of the affiliate products that you are planning to sell. In other words, don’t simply try to sell the affiliate products on your website. This could be a unique niche product of your own, or it could be in the form of information, such as an audio or video production, or an e-book or e-mail course. As a matter of fact, I’m currently working on a free ebook to give away.

The more of these unique “front end” products that you can offer the more likely you will succeed in selling affiliate products on the “back end” as follow-up sales.

When you offer something unique you are setting yourself apart from the competition. You are showing your market that you have the expertise and the ability to produce something that is unique and is also relevant to the needs of your market. This will help yougain credibility in the eyes of your potential customers.

3. The Internet is all too often an anonymous and impersonal space. Just think of all the websites that you visit where you have no idea who the owner is. It’s a good bet that much of your competition are trying to sell products from websites full of impersonal sales hype and zero personal input.

You should be different. Let people know who you are. People like to buy from people who they feel they know and have something in common with. So be brave, put a photo of yourself with your real name on your website. Even better, if you have a web cam, make a two minute introductory video in which you introduce yourself and your business to your website visitors.

Above all give your visitors clear contact details so that they can follow-up with any questions that they may have. If they can’t contact you, chances are they will never purchase anything from you. By making yourself available to them you are offering them a service which will foster contact and will become something your customers come to appreciate.

.If you want to move ahead of the competition, and I’m sure you do, take the time and make the effort to master these basic techniques. If you do, the chances are far greater that you will have success with your home based Internet affiliate marketing business.
